According to various studies, it is estimated that chronic kidney disease (CKD) affects up to 600 million people worldwide, including approx. 4 million people in Poland.

Patients are at risk of two major complications: increased risk of cardiovascular disease and development of end-stage renal disease requiring so-called renal replacement therapy. Currently, CKD is listed among lifestyle diseases (alongside arterial hypertension, diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular diseases).

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) means permanent damage to the kidneys, and it can progress over time, eventually leading to kidney failure. Treatment of patients with CKD should be started as early as possible to avoid serious complications and to delay the need for renal replacement therapy. At Diaverum, we are committed to improving the quality of life of patients with kidney disease, enabling them to lead their lives as normally as possible. We spare no effort to improve our patients’ understanding of how the kidneys work and how to prevent kidney diseases or (if they occur) how to treat them effectively, and how to live with them.

The majority of Diaverum clinics in Poland include nephrology outpatient clinics – patients are treated there right from the early stages of CKD. We provide our patients with comprehensive examinations and tests assuring quick diagnostics and effective treatment. We treat the most common kidney diseases and comorbidities, prevent complications, and conduct nutritional treatment, as well as prepare our patients in the pre-dialysis period to start renal replacement therapy.

All individuals receiving their treatment at nephrology outpatient clinics are cared for by nephrologists and internal medicine specialists with many years of experience in working with patients suffering from kidney diseases.

All procedures are performed free of charge under the primary health care insurance of the National Health Fund (NFZ).
